Mission
and Goals
WiredWoods turns youth from consumers of
technology into creators.
Most youth today are able to use computers for entertainment;
they know how to surf the web, play games and chat.
But by building web sites rather than just surfing
them and by communicating creatively with computers
through digital imagery, children begin to unleash
the real power of technology.

Mission
Spark a life-long interest in technology among underserved
youth to empower them to succeed in today’s digital
age.
Goals
WiredWoods goals are to provide a high quality, enriching
technology experience that
- Teaches children how to be
active producers, rather than mere consumers, of technology
- Enables
year-round development
- Catalyzes children to envision
new education and career opportunities
Learning at WiredWoods is based on the premise that children
find it fun and exciting to create original content using
technology. We want to make them active producers with the
technology rather than just passive consumers. We want them
to be writers and collaborators.
